The 1970 Topps Set featured the return of team cards, with the first in this set’s lineup being the #1 NY Mets World Champions card. In 1969, the NY Mets beat the Baltimore Orioles in the World Series, with noteworthy players including Tom Seaver, Nolan Ryan, Jerry Koosman, & Gil Hodges (Manager) on the roster.

The 1970 Topps Baseball set is a condition sensitive, easily obtainable set that consists of 720 cards, each with a color photo of the player(s) printed within a white frame and gray border. While some collectors view the gray border as dismal and plain, it results in the colored player portraits standing out amidst the background. In addition, the gray border makes centering issues, corner, & edge wear apparent & easy to identify. This set looks sharp & clean inside a PSA slab/case. The majority of the cards portray the players’ team & position. Subsets include League Leaders, National and American League Playoffs, World Series, and All-Stars.
